• We aim to offer a death registration appointment within 2 working days of enquiry and a birth registration appointment within 5 working days of enquiry.
• If you need to amend your details please use the "edit" button on the confirmation page
• At the end of the booking/ordering process we will send you an email confirmation together with useful information regarding your appointment/order
• We prefer fees to be paid by credit/debit card. If you wish to pay by cash, please bring the correct amount.  Our current fees can be found on the REGISTRATION FEES page of our website.
• If you have made an appointment and need to cancel or re-arrange it after your booking is complete please do this via the Customer Resolution Centre on 0300 131 2 131

If your baby was born in the James Cook Hospital, we have a special arrangement with Middlesbrough Borough Council so that you can register your baby at our Northallerton or Richmond Offices.  You will be able to have a copy of the birth certificate immediately, however, should you require further certificates you will need to apply to the Middlesbrough Register Office.

If your baby was born in York District Hospital you can register your baby by appointment at Malton or Selby offices.  You will be able to have a copy of the birth certificate immediately, however, should you require further certificates you will need to apply to the YORK Register Office.

If your baby was born in Airedale Hospital you can register your baby by appointment at the Skipton office.  You will be able to have a copy of the birth certificate immediately, however, should you require further certificates you will need to apply to the BRADFORD and KEIGHLEY Register Office
